The Board of Directors of Social Venture Partners (SVP) Boston is excited to welcome Karin Cassel Mitterando as Chief Executive Officer, having served as interim CEO since November 2024.
Mitterando brings thirty years of experience in the non-profit sector, and two decades of strategic leadership in nonprofit development, fundraising, and organizational growth. As the principal strategist of Mission Forward Consulting, she has empowered organizations across sectors to expand their impact and secure transformational funding.
Through leadership positions in organizations fighting homelessness in Greater Boston, most recently serving as executive director of Caritas Communities, she has led strategic planning, modernized branding and communications, built and trained staffing infrastructure with a DEI lens, and raised tens of millions of dollars to create and rehabilitate supportive housing, develop new programs, and improve the lives of Boston’s most vulnerable residents.
“Karin’s passion for service combined with her depth and breadth of experience in building capacity in non-profit organizations is a wonderful asset to SVP,” said Marva Serotkin, Board Co-Chair. “Her energy and creativity are exceptional, and we look forward to working with her to bring SVP’s unique model of support to the changemaking organizations in Boston.”
“My goal in working with non-profits is to give them the opportunity to operate from a position of strength and abundance,” said Mitterando. “SVP’s unique model of pro-bono expert consulting services combined with direct financial support is an amazing resource that helps early-stage non-profits propel their mission forward, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this effort.”
